Foods You Should Avoid with Arthritis

Some foods that cause inflammation in the body:

  3. White flour and other refined carbs

  5. Saturated fats
  6. Trans fats
  7. Preservatives

Other foods are anti-inflammatory. Eating a diet that consists primarily of these foods may promote joint health, as well as good overall health.

Any food high in Omega 3s and antioxidants can help reduce inflammation in the body. There is conflicting information on dairy products and vegetables such as tomatoes and eggplant. If you have a concern about your body’s reaction to a particular food, the best thing you can do is eliminate it from your diet for several weeks to see if there is any change. Then, reintroduce that food to see if there is a negative effect.
